Burn The Fat - Feed The Muscle
Tom Venuto’s, Burn the Fat - Feed the Muscle holds a very special place in my heart. This is the nutrition and workout program that rescued me from a miserable and incredibly ineffective 1.5 year long experience with Weight Watchers & South Beach.
It took me 1.5 years to lose 45lbs starving myself and running myself ragged on the treadmill and tripping over the stepper doing Firm DVDs.
Out of sheer desperation because the pounds were starting to quickly come back on after getting sick and taking a week off my diet (to the tune of 11lbs!), I happened across Burn the Fat - Feed the Muscle. I must say, I was unimpressed with the sales pitch, and the whole body builder feel made me nervous. I’m not a body builder! So, I didn’t buy the book right away. Instead I talked to people who’ve followed the program. I could not find ONE single person who had anything negative to say about the program. So, I bought it! That was the day my life changed.
I followed Tom’s plan for 5 short months and lost 30lbs of fat - not muscle! My rate of weight loss literally quadrupled. And, here is the kicker - Burn the Fat-Feed the Muscle had me eating 500 calories a day more than Weight Watchers and South Beach!
Inside info on Burn the Fat - Feed the Muscle
- Tom talks about the importance of some rules and principles of getting healthy. There are no quick fixes and there is far, far more to weight loss then just weight loss.
- You will not lose weight unless you set goals. Tom knows this, and he stresses this while showing you how to set effective goals.
- This was KEY for me: Tom’s Support Forum will give you access to interviews, articles, and audio presentations not available in the book. The combination of motivation and goal coaching along with sound nutrition is, yes, the secret magic pill for weight loss!
- Your body type effects how you must approach weight loss. I hate how doctors tell you that there is only one way to lose weight. The truth: weight loss is a math, and the math is different for everyone. Tom will teach you how to figure out what formula works for you and why!
- Learn the down low on the supplement industry. Tom shows us what is good to take, what is bad to take, and what might help us depending on the situation our body is in. The weight loss industry is full of bad products that suck the money out of the people. Tom will teach you what might help and what won’t. He also lets us know that with a proper eating plan, we don’t even need supplements.
- Tom shows us why the best way to lose weight is not to starve it off, but to burn it off. He stresses the importance of cardio and weight training together with a good eating plan.
- Tom explains in greater detail what is needed in weight training. He covers workout plans that will deliver results.
- Tom teaches sound nutritional principles for fat loss combined with muscle retention. Muscle retention is key for keeping your metabolic fires burning that fat!
- Learn effective ways to monitor your fat loss (and why you absolutely MUST monitor), what to do when and it slows and why the scale is the absolute most inaccurate and incredibly ineffective way to track your progress.
Who this book will benefit:
Honestly, anyone who wants to lose weight and is willing to engage in physical activity - both cardio and resistance training. Burn the Fat is always my first recommendation to anyone because you actually get to eat (for some people the quantity of food hard to get down in the beginning!) AND lose weight at the same time. Having done the low calorie thing for SO long, I suppose I may be biased. I was sick of starving myself so that I could simply stay overweight! That said, this program is one I still follow - just with more calories. Burn the Fat - Feed the Muscle is the perfect program for those looking to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Who this book may NOT be suitable for:
Anyone unable or unwilling to become physically active. As with most products I recommend, anyone looking for a quick fix and/or super fast rate of loss, probably won’t like this book. This book may be a bit too detailed for beginners, but even so, better to learn the right way to lose weight before one of the not so right method salespeople poison your mind and make you waste months and months spinning your wheels going nowhere!
